Laughing Dagger
Simple weapon, melee weapon, rare (requires attunement)
- Cost: ⏤
- Weight: 1.0 lb.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
Finesse. When making an attack with a finesse weapon, you use your choice of your Strength or Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls. You must use the same modifier for both rolls.
Light. A light weapon is small and easy to handle, making it ideal for use when fighting with two weapons.
Thrown. If a weapon has the thrown property, you can throw the weapon to make a ranged attack. If the weapon is a melee weapon, you use the same ability modifier for that attack roll and damage roll that you would use for a melee attack with the weapon. For example, if you throw a handaxe, you use your Strength, but if you throw a dagger, you can use either your Strength or your Dexterity, since the dagger has the finesse property.
Wild Laughter. The weapon has 3 charges. You may expend a charge to cast Vicious Mockery as a bonus action or Tasha's Hideous Laughter as an action. These spells are being cast by the weapon. The weapon regains all charges at dawn.
Curse. This item is cursed. Attuning to it curses you until you are targeted by a remove curse spell or similar magic. As long as you remain cursed you cannot discard the dagger or do anything else that requires the use of the hand holding the dagger. If you attempt to the dagger will begin to cackle maniacally as they come alive and zip around through the air, causing mayhem. The dagger will need to be caught midair using a slight of hand check or something similar to stop their antics. If the owner tries to drop the dagger and leave, the cursed object will follow after them, continuing to zip around through the air.
