A mechanical dragon construct guards the vault in which the party walks into. And a new acquaintance waits for them to defeat it.

Summary

A mechanical dragon construct guards the vault in which the party walks into. The construct is made to imitate a Black Dragon. Both Brisk Barrie and Khimari Stormgrove tried to speak to the construct and persuade it to stop guarding it's treasure, but nothing changes it's nature. Beginning the battle the dragon lets out a murderous breath weapon and deals a line of Acid capturing three of the group and downing Trash Compactor in the process. After a deadly battle, Arno was able to land the killing blow on the construct with his Laughing Dagger beheading the dragon.

Once the dragon construct was defeated, the group was greeted by a new devil who came through the library. This devil, dressed in a modern all black suit and holding a flask, goes by the name of Azazel. It is revealed that he is the patron to a companion of Biff the Giff. Azazel attempts to blackmail the party, revealing that he knows of Texxus's murder a few nights ago.

The deal that he offers to the party is for them to take part in a competition that is known as the Sunderdome. It is explained that the Sunderdome is a battle royale that immortal beings can compete in, sponsoring a party of mortals to fight in the dome with the prize of two wishes, one for the sponsor and another to the party, to the victor. Since both Azazel and the party are working towards erasing The Dread Conductor from existence, working together would double the chances of it's success.

Also revealing that Horatio is the head of a celestial, Azazel suggest Horatio sponsors the group as he has already decided to sponsor Biff's gang. Giving the party time to think about their decision, he agrees to meet them back at the The Half Moon Saloon.

Azazel then opens a portal and leaves through it, afterwards the destination of the portal leads to the surface where the artificer gnome Ove and Baron Denham were waiting. The Baron's excavation crew comes in through the portal to collect and count the treasure hoard. As agreed, the party gains a reward of 12% of the gains netting them 2000 gold. Arno, unsatisfied with this reward also pickpockets the Baron as they left gaining The Sponsor's Blade and a Moustache of Disguise Self.

In excitement of the newly acquired Eye of The Reaper, Kazuki decides to take part in the implantation ritual. The ritual grievously wounds Kaz, leaving him very close to death's door. Unfortunately two Bulettes show up before Kazuki has a chance to heal. The party was able to make quick work of the two landsharks, but not before Kazuki was downed once.
