Dust and Devils Session 6

After returning to town and restocking on supplies, the party makes a deal with Azazel to go through hell and save Horatio's body.

Summary

After dispatching the two Bulettes the party gets a much needed rest with one day left to travel to town. Making their way back to Boom Town, the group all go to Pearson's Perfect Products to restock on supplies. Kazuki also makes his way to Endy's Equinox to finally purchase Macchiato, the stallion. Percy Pearson tells the party that many patrons are currently in The Half Moon Saloon, so the party starts to make their way there.

Once inside, the saloon is bustling with many people. Chief among them is Azazel and Tisha at a table finishing up a conversation. As the party start to familiarize themselves with their surroundings, Tisha gets up from her table and taps Khimari Stormgrove on the shoulder that Azazel is waiting for him. Meanwhile, Brisk Barrie sits at the bar to catch up with Wylie Willingham and gaslight the local Reverend to drink himself to passing out. Kazuki spots Biff the Giff at a table playing cards with his gang and sits himself at their table.

Kazuki got pressured into a game of cards and loses to all of Biff's gang. After some shenanigans the party finally make their way to congregate with Azazel. They agree and sign the contract with the devil to be transported to the last known location of Horatio's body. Azazel offers a pendant of locate object, currently tuned to Horatio's body, to aid them as well as a golden ticket. The golden ticket could only be activated by an immportal that would serve as the sponsor of the sunderdome. After the final signature, the entire party is immediately teleported to Dis, the second layer of hell.

Horatio informs the group that their current location is the Agora of Floating Knives, the market district of the Iron City of Dis. The city is one of the safe havens for interplanar visitors and non-natives of the hells. Unfortunately the party was easily distracted and lured to a pleasure camp by an Incubus and Succubus, in the dreamlike experience the party was not able to leave the camp for another 71 hours with little memory of what actually happened inside.

Once outside the group start make their way through the market. Brisk is approached by a small imp who tries desperately to sell an Amulet, which Brisk accepts. The amulet turns out to be an Amulet of Betrayal. The team also explore a little more and do additional shopping in the district gaining powerful magic items and spending all of their soul coins. Once satisfied, the party uses the pendant of locate object and start following the trail.

They spot an amusement park of sorts. Wanting to get a better vantage point, they ride the Ferris Wheel to use the pendant at the highest point still within Dis. Khimari was able to pinpoint the location of Horatio's body to the nearby market area outside of the amusement park. The top of the ferris wheel tipped into a portal that showed them a peek of the other layers of hell, Arno being able to identify Avernus, Malboge and Cania. Before leaving the amusement park, the team also rides a deadly roller coaster where they barely survived the attraction.

Now knowing the correct location, the team makes their way to the Market of Killers and Victims. They find an Affliction Devil bartaring at one of the stalls with a suspicious bag. Arno was able to pickpocket the devil with the aid of Trash Compactor's Invisibility spell. Not wanting to call attention to them, the party make their way back to the amusement park before they take out Horatio's body from the bag. They decide to do this while re-riding the Ferris Wheel. Horatio was able to reattach his head to his body on the apex of the Ferris Wheel and activate the golden ticket just as the wheel entered the hell portal.

Going through the portal, the entire party was in the final layer of hell face to face with the God Asmodeus, Lord of the Nine Hells, for a split second as Horatio was able to activate the golden ticket to immediately transport them to the Sunderdome.
